The HP iPAQ 610/612/614 is a great example of this. It was a great product with great promise. Ahead of its time in the communications technologies it contained when it first appeared in April 2007. September it got more official, the October/November launch dates came and went without a word, until the phone was finally scrapped completely in the US.

The phone was finally launched in the UK in February of this year. AsiaPacific is STILL waiting on their 612 model, a year on!

Now, the iPAQ's pizazz has gone. ASUS has released and updated the P750 in that time and has even released ANOTHER new phone since then. HP's only announcement has been that they won't be providing a Windows Mobile 6.1 update for their current range of iPAQs. 610 incuded.
