OK, so the tablet is a misnomer, but what is it then, a phone? It is nothing like a netbook, so same ppi doesn’t matter. The 3GS dpi was attrocious, Apple would have stepped up long time ago if they weren’t confined by the integer step they’ve chosen to easily maintain compatibility with their older apps.

Acceptable for the price — I dunno, I am not rich enough to buy things so cheap…

no, i dont think its a tablet (tho i think thats a claim of either the webshop leak or the article author, not archos. at least until we see the official archos announcement).

as for the dpi (or ppi), its not much different from a netbook. And actually on par with iphone up to 3GS (and the equivalent ipod touch). For the price, i say its acceptable.

I’m sorry, tso, but no, for a future device less than 150 dpi is bullshit. And why call this tiny piece of crap “tablet”?

I had high hopes before they announced the Archos 7 specs, then I stopped following Archos.

One can only afford a few underdog passions.

given the screen size, the resolution makes sense, as its a common phone combo (meaning, its easier to get hold of).

except for the cpu, the specs seems to be very much phone style, without the mobile radio.

I used to like Archos before they turned so impotent. 400×240 tablet — are you kidding me? A8, Android 2.1 in a new device to come what, six months from now? Who are they competing against, the Indian government $25 tablet?

Archos, strap on a pair…

It support 30fps 720p at up to 12mbit/s. I don’t know who read or understood this information wrongly.

i do wonder if this will have a more mainstream android then the archos 5 IT thats come before it (one that i am considering getting my hands on, as archos have made a angstrom variant available for it, technically future-proofing it).

Does a 3.2″ screen really qualify as a tablet? If so, then the iPhone is a tablet.
