I want to go on record as saying NO ONE SELLS THIS WITH 2.2 AS 2.2 HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED FOR IT YET!!!! This needs spreading around as there are a number of websites now selling this as WITH 2.2 and trust me, it isn’t. its 2.1 and as such fairly rubbish. I’m not convinced 2.2 will solve everything but at least it’ll be up-to-date. Please dont buy one until the Archos website states it is up-to-date as it’s plain miss-selling or ignorance otherwise.

Would the 70 fit in my jeans pocket? I’m torn between getting the 70 or the 43. the 70 has capacitive and bigger screen. the 43 is pocket-able with a better PPI(Pixel per Inch). The price difference is only $25. So Confused!?

Are the Archos 70 being sold have Android 2.2?

If not, is it a lot of hassle to download the firmware once it’s available or is it better to wait for the version with the Android 2.2 downloaded already?

Why would I want yet another 3G device when my phone already has it and can tether with an unlimited data plan? I would hate to have to pay for yet another plan/SIM to get data to a tablet. At work, at home and at my friends’ houses I would use wifi anyway…

Why is the Archos 7 tablet footage tacked onto the end of the Archos 70 hands-on video? That older 7 tablet is a resistive touchscreen running 1.6 on a slower processor so is a total misrepresentation of the new tablet.

The new 70 and upcoming 101 ten inch tablets are on a different level of usability from the older tablets that Archos was producing just last year and earlier this year. Please show us complete footage of the new products because we want to see how these newer products really stack up against the competition!

I own a 70 it and trust me it’s a very good tablet. It’s working like a charm and you can install android market and google apps very easily. Look here => http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=38186
I did it, it took me less than two minutes and it’s perfectly working.
Plus if you custom it using launcherpro or adwlauncher it’s even better ^^
