I hear what you are saying and I respect it. People should not love or hate companies, they should evaluate every product based on that products value. But here's the thing. Apple is the one company I don't mind hating because they deserve it. They are the definition of absolute power corrupting absolutely. They are everything that is wrong with tech today. They tell you what you need instead of asking you. I need flash. I need an accessible file system. I need to be able to run more than one app at once. Everyone HATED Microsoft in the 90's and 2000's because of their monopoly. The EU sues Microsoft for only including IE on Windows, but MS never charges Google or Apple or Mozilla for the "right" to put a different browser on their OS. Apple does. They freely allow iCloud on their devices but charge 30% for dropbox or skydrive to be able to do the same. And no one stops them. They become crazy successful on the backs of idiots that don't know how to use real computers and get companies that make real computers to change and be like them because of their success. They sue instead of innovate because they are so righteous that think they own the rights to rectangles with rounded corners and no one else can have it. And in so doing, they have innovated a new era of patent trolls. YOu can't "own" a type of store you can't "own" a rectangle. But Apple does, because, hey, they're Apple so its ok right? WRONG! They are hypocrites. EVERYTHING they used to blame Microsoft for in the past they are now guilty of themselves, and to such a higher degree than MS EVER was. Before apple, we were concerned with making powerful systems thinner and lighter and more accessible. Now thanks to the douchebag iPad, we are only interested in making lightweight systems like the iPhone bigger and heaver like the iPad. We used to be able to buy software and sell it when we are done. No longer. Thanks to the douchebag app store we can buy apps and then never resell them. And thanks to that douchebag's success, XBOX and PS4 are following in suit, as are all systems. Apple's success has shown the entire industry that you can be come crazy successful from taking away choice from the consumer. Apple is everything that is wrong with corporations and they need to fail for the sake of the consumer.Subject: [slashgeardotcom] Re: Apple’s stock drops to a new low

Apple shares are down to $430 today. Let me just say, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. By the way, no wonder Cooks hasn't done stuff all about it, he's made almost a billion dollars from apple and his wage has just gone up again. Sounds like he is just screwing as much money as he can out of Apple before it all comes crashing down. Good on you Cook's, love your work.

Why not hate a rival NfL team or world hunger? Has Apple taken food from your family or forced you into embarrassing situations? I just but products I like and avoid ones that I don't like. I respect Apple, but don't hate them for being a large company. If you don't respect the fact that their iPhone is relatively ""boring"" compared to new Android phones, then don't buy it. If you are annoyed that Apple consumers stay loyal to Apple, then picket your local Apple store during an iPhone launch. Business practices- litigation and supply chain management - meh- all companies do this. They don't run drugs or support terrorism.
Me, I fight the urge to conform to hating big companies because it is fashionable to do so online. so petty. There are more serious issues in the world that deserve more attention.

Apple didn't deserve to have its stock value skyrocket to $700+ to begin with. The current value makes sense. They are still leaders tablets, which is growing at a faster pace than PCs, but at the same time, investor emotions have cooled to realizing that Apple is fighting a battle across all fronts and are in danger of not having distribution and price points to fill DEMND that Android manufacturers are able to.

I'm going to join in the conversation. First, I don't like apple but I don't want
them to disappear I just want them to innovate. What got me to
dislike apple in the first place was their constant and ridiculous law suits of
any competition even attacking "mom and pop" stores for having the name apple, when they should have been focusing on future innovation instead. I think they wasted almost a year and a half in law suits allowing other companies to catch up and to even pass them in R&D. I like the fact they are an American company and I hope they learned a

People do want something new, and are finally willing to go elsewhere if Apple doesn't provide it. A year ago I saw iPhones and only iPhones wherever I went. Now that has changed.

Great-looking/feeling hardware can only go so far. Teens are starting to wonder if they really want to use devices that "everybody, including their grandma" is using. Apple products are starting to lose their 'cool factor' and become just 'common.' People are finally starting to see beyond the shiny aluminum. Buying the latest Apple product used to be a no-brainer, but that's no longer the case. This is great to see because it will force Apple to get back to the drawing board and (hopefully) produce and release something that actually is revolutionary.

More and more people are starting to trust other brands, which is the worst news possible for Apple.

Erm.. I dunno, apple are IMO going to fall back to where they should be. ie a firm that makes decent products but not revolutionary ones. They have had their time in the media sun and have now faded, It happens

Without something radical they will be remembered as the firm that gave us what we already had but sold it to us in a way that made us want it. And kudos to them for doing so BUT they have corrupted many aspects of the IT world and thus deserved to be pilloried accordingly.

Releasing the iPad mini was a stupid idea because they cannibalize the sales of the iPad, Apple's current premier product. Furthermore, the mini is so inferior with specs and a lack of the Retina display, yet Apple is charging more than 1/3 of its competitor! This is mismanagement, corporate greed and pomposity to that utmost gall!

wow, none of this is true. First of all their "popular" products may be in fact popular but they are losing more and more of that popularity everyday. The iDevice doesn't have the cool factor it once did. Microsoft is Apple's biggest competitor against the MAC but MAC is not Apple's golden boy, the iPad is. That makes Samsung, Google, and Amazon Apple's biggest competitor. And As far as I can tell, the GSIII, Galaxy note, Nexus 7, etc are doing just fine and dwindling Apple's numbers every single day.

Their products may be very high quality in hardware but their software leaves MUCH to be desired. iOS was crazy impressive when it first came out but today it looks dull and boring and lifeless compared to Android and Windows. What Apple needs is to bring back the true innovation and FAST because the "things are just fine" mentality is what is leading to these falling stocks in the first place.

Oh and by the way, Windows 8 has plenty of haters, just like windows has always had. But I wouldn't call sales records as high as windows 7 a "strike out" We should all be so lucky to strike out that way.

Stop with the death knell already. Apple has a ton of cash, popular products, and their primary competition in the computer OS space, Microsoft, has struck out with their new OS and their phone isn't doing that hot either. If Apple can keep product quality at top-notch, consider lowering their margins on a few items, and release more than minor updates to products (and skip the press events for a while), things will be fine. I remember when Apple's stock was $13 in the 1990s. Things are just fine.
