ummm, sorry did somebody say that person shouldn’t protest this because they are drinking out of a plastic bottle? or until they use no oil period? we’re talking about a powerplant here. There’s no comparison. These folks are pointing at the moon and you folks are looking at their finger… while you continue to criticize and try to devalidate the legitimate concerns of protesters these corporations are destroying everything natural that we’re supposed to be leaving for future generations, violating environmental and human rights for profit. These folks are willing to get beat up by cops and to go through traumatic jail experiences to bring attention to the things that affect ther communities and someone on here sais they’re “willing to turn a blind eye” for a cop to go pepper spray crazy? shame on yall… so many ignorant, privileged and short-sighted opinions on here. It’s disgusting.

No. We all push forward together. Monks don’t make change happen. We change the engine while we use it as efficiently as we can. This purity argument that I see in every comments section makes no sense at all. It’s OK to use fossil fuel, as efficiently as one comfortably can, to do things that will get us off of fossil fuel in the future.

lets see, we don’t want nuclear, we don’t want to use coal, fuel oil is no good too, solar doesn’t have the efficiency needed. Wind turbines are blight on the landscape and disrupt migrations and kill birds. What do they recommend? Hamsters? No, that will make methane.

Then I have to ask how did the protestors get there, bicycle, and where do they live and how do they light their homes. And what do they use to run down the Japanese whaler’s sail boats. Sounds hypocritical to me. And look close one protestor is drinking out of a plastic bottle.

I believe that we should all be less dependent on fossil fuels to power our tech, however Greenpeace are so two faced about it. Until Greenpeace themselves can prove that they don’t use any fossil fuels PERIOD then they have no right to protest against anybody using it. They have the “do as I say, not as I do” mentality.
