I think Apple is so scared they will lose the competition, that they have to resort to suing everybody and forcing licensing agreements (like M$ did). What a loser company if that’s how they compete.

That’s actually not true. The Charge cable for the Galaxy Tab is PDMI, which A) was not developed by Samsung and B) is an open source. In fact the Dell Streak uses the same cable. If Samsung copied the cable, then Apple would have mentioned it in their lawsuits.

Uncanny is probably not the word you should use. Uncanny would be if one were from another planet or unearthed from an Arctic tomb or something. You should probably use a phrase like “no-brainer” as a consequence of imaging device design and ergonomics as well as current industrial design across almost all products throughout the world.

OMG! They are both rectangular with rounded edges! Apple needs to go after Toshiba, ASUS, HP, Blackberry, Archos, etc. etc for copying their form factor!! Oh wait!! Archos was making rectangular, round edged tablets before Apple. Ummmm OK I’ve got it. They are all copying Apple by having lines of icons on the screen!! OMG!! But wait, Xerox PARC used lines of icons on its commercially sold computers back in the 70′s. Crap!!

You must be blind. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks nothing like the ipad or ipad2. Also, apple edited the picture of the galaxy tab to make it appear more square. I am comparing my tab to the one in the pic and its much wider.

why are they compaing galaxy tab 10.1 photos with sketches…..may the the real tablets are different. this is stupid. compare the real pictures of the tablets rather than one sketch one pic

The similarities are uncanny, unfortunately. Samsung has ‘borrowed’ design up to the charge cable even. I still find it baffling why Samsung needs to ‘copy’. It has more than enough ability to design its own look and feel. HTC is a good example of what can be done. Personally I think they’ve only brought it to themselves. I have both the Tab 10.1 and the iPad 2 in pictures comparing the two. Visually similar, although the display ratio of the Tab is more widescreen.

Oh well.

“if Apple subsequently loses the main case it will be liable to pay damages to Samsung based on lost sales” Then they better get ready to open their wallet, but really this isn’t about the money. They don’t care about the few million they’ll pay for lost sales or the (relatively tiny) impact in the news that such a payment would garner. They care about the tens of millions they’ll gain in the long run by giving the impression that the galaxy tab is just a copy. It’s cynical manipulation of the media. Don’t pay this undue attention, just make up your mind whether you want to buy products from anyone so ruthless.

They only similarity is that they are both rectangular. Since android devices have started showing apple has done all they can to stop them from being sold.
