I work in china and saw this happen, everything in prices went up. You know who i blame? the consumers who said oh no, i dont want to pay more for my products made in china.

why does my iphone unlocked cost +499$? that's outrageous! look at the factory's workers eyes and say you want cheaper electronics again. haha, if everyone wants a far world then everything you buy should be at least double the price

The real question should be related to the Foxconn "Halo" effect. We will see the ad hock cost of labour rising throughout China which will squeeze the smaller factories which are struggling to find any staff after this past CNY. The added cost (of course) is then passed on to the end consumer.
I would expect 25 - 30% cost hikes for goods manufactured In China this year.

A little less greed on the part of corporate executives in the profit taking and the items can be made just as well here and sold with little or no price increase. But that's not what corporate heads want now is it? Just keep paying to 100 million dollar payouts to execs pensions and they'll keep moving their companies overseas.

That website is a mess. How about do your part in eliminating eye strain in the world and get rid of that background image.

That factory looks like better conditions than my mom and dad worked in for 30 years here in the USA. My mom lost the tip of her finger, my dad had a finger internally liquified. They knew the risks, knew the alternatives available locally, and made a choice.

I think we should be more concerned with factory food processors here in the states that employ illegals because they can be exploited. These companies are breaking laws willfully.

Chris
Higher wages will not by themselves change onerous, and unhealthy working conditions at Foxconn. I must point out that the wage increase was first proposed by Foxconn over 3 weeks ago.
Please see my blog "unhealthyworkblog" for detailed criticisms of the approach being taken by Foxconn and Apple to dealing with working conditions at Foxconn plants.
