PREDICTED PRICES:

Final Cut Pro X = $299
Motion X = $149
Soundtrack Pro X = $79
Color X = $79
Compressor X = $79
DVD Studio Pro X = $79

The total cost = $685

Apple has passed on the savings from making the software downloadable to us. No longer does it have to have boxed software that costs money to package.

This also seriously undercuts the competition, putting enormous pressure on them.

Apple is seeking to drive purchases of Mac Hardware with these prices. This creates a larger market for other software developers on its App store while at the same time gives Apple its bread and butter profits from hardware.

If Aperture - a professional photographer application - can sell for $79, then all the other components of Final Cut Studio X can also be sold for a low price.

This also opens up the market to more consumers with Apple software. This then also drives further hardware sales.
