I'm curious. Aren't typical price negotiations always done under Non Disclosure Agreements?
so either:
a) Apple didn't request CBS sign on.
b) CBS violated the terms of the NDA
c) CBS for one reason or another is sending out false rumors?

Tv isn't quite on It's knees yet like the music industry was... Give it while...

I mean, who watches commercials any more? 30 second advance baby! How long it before advertisers face this realization?

When Steve jobs made the deals that created iTunes Apple was a smaller company and his proposition seemed harmless. Today the TV networks know that Apple's agenda is disruptive and they managed to turn the whole music industry into their personal fiefdom. No wonder they want to keep Apple out and protect their huge revenue streams.

Shane, You asked a question: "I am curious why with all the money Apple has in the bank it wouldn’t have just paid upfront and brought the service to market." Actually it was a statement in the form of a question, but implied, is that you think Apple should have just made the deal happen. Who does that remind you of? Microsoft who would have just thrown a bunch of money at the networks. Apple doesn't do things that way. They'll bide their time. They'll continue to improve their existing ecosystems and meet the networks somewhere in the middle, in the process, changing what we think of as TV. This is what they did with music and with cell phones.
