Samsung makes the hhd/hdd I can’t remeber the name so hard drive, but
samsung make the hard drive for the ipod classic, so I wonder whether
they also make the touch and iphone memory cards, would be interesting
to pull apart an old, bricked out of waranty itouch to see

The 64gb model has 2 32gb memory cards in it, and the iphone had 1 in it. The company that makes them for apple has released 64gb cards. Which means sometime in the near future we will see a 64gb iphone and a 128gb ipod touch……without a spinning hard drive

Yeah, it’s still up there. Problem is… It would HAVE to be a Hard Drive model if it is indeed coming out any time soon. For a portable multimedia device such as the touch, it would have to have a pretty good darn battery to support a spinning Hard Drive (apple knows this, that is why it now only has flash memory). If it was 160GB of flash memory, the unit would cost well into in the thousands. Possible this is true, but highly unlikly. I know I sure wouldn’t want a power hungry hard drive in my iPod touch. Nor would i spend over a grand for one with 160GB of flash memory.

However, once the price of flash memory drops. It should be possible to have a 160GB model for under $500.
