Possibly cool, but I'd imagine unlikely at that price-point - if a 27" apple display runs to $999 then drop a little for a lower resolution panel (presumably Full-HD, but still LED not to back-track on their own tech), add a little for apple TV/iOS integration and you're still hovering around $1k. 32" would presumably be more and perhaps a more likely size given current TV size trends...

Any lower price then this will simply undercut their monitor sales as people 'could' use the "new apple tv display" as their computer monitor as well, hell, you could buy one for the office and one for the living room for the same price if it came in at $499 - the current apple displays don't exactly cross any consumer/pro-user boundaries at the moment?!

Makes sense. Most TV manufacturers are buying other companies panels and components and using them to make their own TV's, so why not Apple? They have an excellent brand image, so why not leverage it to get into a new market?
