As well as their new Mac range, Apple have also updated their Time Capsule backup device. The new Apple Time Capsule 1TB has more storage than before, but also supports simultaneous dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi n.
That means devices can switch between the two bands for the fastest throughput, and considering the Time Capsule now supports up to fifty users it’s a useful addition. The Time Machine also works as the WiFi n router, with guest networking (a separate password-protected guest account for visitors), and print server.
Thanks to compatibility with OS X Leopard Time Machine, setup is straightforward, and the Time Capsule also works with PCs. It’s available in 1TB and 500GB capacities, priced at $499 and $299 respectively, and ships within 24hrs.
