I said, Apple is failing to innovate on the newer devices (specifically the new iPad and iPhone 4S). Since they aren’t offering a good choice or price, they only have innovation to retain sales… and they are not doing that. Without choice, price, or innovation, they will lose…

You are completely right when you say people want choices, but one thing that must be clear is that the reason why android is outselling iOS as a platform, is because it’s a free OS that gets licensed for many companies,

Android is not a better platform than iOS, android is just another choice for consumers

They can outsell iOS by making a thousand smarphones and tablets that can cost as low as $40, SURE; can they sell an specific product as much as Apple?? are they a better product/software than the iPhone and iPad?

You have an ipad, you know the answer

No, I don’t have to compare 1 phone to another… because we are talking PLATFORMS here. Yes, Android has more choice… and like I said, that’s what people want, and that’s why it’s outselling Apple already in the phone market. Secondly, to reiterate, even though I admit that Android tablets aren’t great, they are already catching up to the heralded (even by me) iPads. Again, people want choice. No one cares if the iPad has the best hardware… price and choice is STILL a factor.

In the end, Android will outsell Apple in tablets. Iphone defenders said it wouldn’t happen there, and it did. And it will happen in tablets too… it’s almost there already.

My point is, I would like Apple to innovate… and they aren’t doing that right now (the 4S and new iPad are my examples). They are playing the specs-game, which they will surely lose in the long run. I am asking them to innovate.

Apple innovated with the introduction of the 1st iPad, and with the 3rd generation they just building on top of that innovation, by making it even better. Android phones are outselling iPhones for two reasons;

1) they sell a BIG variety of CHEAP phones for low budgets ( many of them are free )

2)Look at how may companies make android phones (because its a free open source OS) and how many carriers have them versus the iPhone:
HTC, Motorola, LG, Panasonic, Huaweii, Samsung, and many more; with this many companies of course they gonna outsell the iPhone which only one company makes them (Apple) but when it comes One on One, where it really matters non of them sell more than Apple, not even Samsung who is the most successful with it’s galaxy series smartphones.

Who cares if android outselled the iPhone when half of them where cheap crappy phones that suck and even feature phones from nokia result in a better experience

What u really need to compare is the flagship android phone, like the galaxy nexus pr galaxy II…and you know NONE of them seller as much as the iPhone did…

Tablet market, don’t even get me started…

If you have in excess of 100 Bn $ in the bank in cash, you could afford a small dividend without drying up R&D. But I guess they prefer claiming more titles (biggest/most valuable/most whatever) than actually giving something to stock holders. Well, if I dont buy their products, I’ll not buy their stock either.

Well, as much as I agree with your sentiment, there are stocks with higher prices than Apple. Berkshire Hathaway, for one.

If you ask me, the latest iDevices prove that the innovation from Apple is dying. Yes, the iPad is a wonderful idea, and a collection of great hardware… but there isn’t anything really new that it can do over the competition. In the end, “good enough” will reign supreme… and the proof is in the pudding – Android phones are already outselling iOS, and tablets are catching up even though they really are substandard, overall. It’s simply because people want a choice, and want to get stuff done… and both platforms do this equally well… which is why Apple needs to concentrate on innovating. I am just not seeing that happen.
