Apple shares Beats 1 Radio studio tour on Snapchat

In unique choice of platform, Apple has used messaging/social media app Snapchat to share several videos offering a behind-the-scenes look at the studios of its Beats 1 radio service, a primary feature of Apple Music. Posted from the Snapchat account name "applemusic," the videos mark a new form of promotion from Apple, letting users see the Beats 1 studios in Los Angeles, New York, and London, and introducing DJs Zane Lowe, Julie Adenuga, and Ebro Darden.

As Snapchat's Story videos are limited in length, each studio/DJ's clip was broken up into three videos. The clips showed Lowe, Adenuga, and Darden revealing their respective studio space and how they work when on the air.

The use of Snapchat as a way of reaching out and appealing to users makes sense for the Beats branding, as they often explore popular avenues of social media that Apple usually stays away from. As another example, earlier this week the Beats support account on Twitter began posting short videos that demonstrate the features of their headphone products and how they work.

If you're not already a Snapchat user and want to see the Beats 1 Radio videos, simply download the app and create an account. From the app's home screen, swipe down to get to the Add Friends section, and search for the user name "applemusic." Once completed, from the home screen you can swipe left to see the Stories section, and the Apple Music content should appear under All Stories.
