It really is sad, tablet pc’s have been around for years, yet no one wanted to bother making an affordable one.

Even so the iPad is a joke spec wise, but the fact they got it out and marketed it just shows the market other companies missed.

All their competitors can suck it. Three months and no alternative to iPad? Well, get with the program, or GFTO. The TouchBook was out there a year before the iPad, with an open-source hardware, and not a single large manufacturer could pick it up and make it into something worthwhile? What are they waiting for? Windows 8? Android 3? Ubuntu tablet? MeeGo? What?

I am utterly disgusted by the lack of initiative that most major computer manufacturers have shown so far in the emerging market for light-weight tablet computers. They were beaten to the ground by a piece of skit like the iPad. Shame!
