Apple release OS X 10.6.5; is iOS 4.2 next?

Apple has pushed out OS X 10.6.5, the latest version of its desktop OS, with various bug and security fixes along with increased performance in iPhoto and Aperture, and boosting RAW image support for more digital cameras. The update is tipped to be the first in a series of new software roll-outs from Apple over the next few days, including the much-anticipated iOS 4.2.

You can trigger the update by choosing "Software Update" in the OS X menu, though Apple recommend backing up your Mac first. Full change-list is below.

  • Fixes an issue when replying to a Mail message sent by a person whose name contains certain characters such as é or ü.
