I got a fren who use micro sim and when he want to pop it in other phone with standard sim size, he’ll need some sort of adapter and it didnt even fit well which is suck

Nooo…i see endless law suits down the road. They should come up with a universal sim not likely to be beholding to any of the law suit prone companies. Probably a combination of both or a declaration from all parties involved never to bring any law suits relating to the micro SIM and how it interacts with various devices, its placement etc.

The main advantage of the Apple proposal vs the Nokia sponsored design is that the Apple nano-SIMs are backward compatible. So with a little tray you can use them in older phones which is why all the mobile operators are supporting this design. The Nokia SIM isn’t backward compatible but seems mechanically a bit better. My guess is that Nokia, RIM and Motorola (=Google) want to delay the launch of the iPhone 5 because it is probably designed with the new Apple SIM in mind. Neither Apple nor Nokia would control the standard – it is being discussed and made into a standard in the European standards body.

Ahh I don’t want to buy new Sims in future if I change my phone just like I had to buy new phone chargers everytime …
