Apple OS X Snow Leopard development speeding up?

Apple have begun distributing the latest build of OS X, version 10.5.7 9J27, to testers, just a week after the previous build (9J22) was seeded.  According to the change list, multiple bugs and glitches were identified in 9J22, and quickly addressed by Apple for 9J27, suggesting that the company is ramping up OS X development in an attempt to launch the software sooner rather than later.

There are still some significant issues, however, remaining in 10.5.7 9J27.  CoreRAIDServer crashes once per restart, which would obviously impact data management, and Apple's own Safari 4 Beta browser won't install on the new OS.

Apple are rumored to be accelerating their work on OS X so as to launch it before Microsoft can get Windows 7 to market.  In this latest build, testers are being asked to focus on more than 20 specific areas, including Bluetooth, MobileMe synchronization and Time Machine.
