surely by now people and other companies not apple must realize specs mean jack squat in this era. Apple is a marketing machine, they market properly and get the results. plus their profit margins are ridiculous. Every other manufacturer seems to think the average users wants to hear about the latest and greatest in specs when the reality no one cares. They just want something that works properly when they want it to and do not want to deal with nonsense like carrier/vendor upgrades, etc..
when will people/manufacturers realize this.

And I am not even an apple owner, just observing the obvious!

I definitely misread there. Yes, the iPhone 5 could be called the iPhone 4s, but that will balance on if the design gets changed or not. Changed look of iPhone will result in iPhone 5. Sort of like the 3G/3GS deal.

Hopefully with a redesigned exterior, ideally an all aluminum back, a larger screen, and a gesture-area (which could be the larger home button itself). Whatever it is, people will eat it up, including myself. I was holding out hope for Mango, but the hardware limitations turned me off. Either way, it should be an exciting holiday season!
