I just p a i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2 – 64 G.B and my boyfrîend loves his Pänasoniic Lumíx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by U P S.I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch L.E.D T.V to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.

reading the specs is far less descriptive of the device than a side by side picture. Most people can’t read two sets of measurements and imagine the two objects side by side with perfect clarity, you’re statement is counter to your argument. Apple presented two illustrations side by side, whether they were renderings or actual photos in immaterial, they wanted to demonstrate that the items were similar so they distorted one illustration. ON THE NEXT PAGE, so that the judge would have had to flip back and forth they have the dimensions which as I said don’t help anyone picture the device or they wouldn’t have needed the illustration in the first place. It’s a mediocre comment, but do a little digging before making yourself into a self deluded apple fanboy.

The document included 37 photos (two of those were of the packaging). The two ‘photos’ in question on page 28 appear to be more illustration-like, the only ones illustrating the devices while on to demonstrate the UI/OS. On the next page (29) the specs including actually dimensions in mm is cited for each device. It is a fun narrative to bash Apple, but do a little digging before jumping on the band wagon, folks.

Not to diss any iFans, but why would they NOT want competition to iStuff? Can’t any of them realize that without Android the next iOS upgrade would just be a change of font colors???

It is my understanding that they did submit actual physical devices into evidence. The document with the picture in question is a summary of Apple’s case, I believe.

Look at the bezel, compare it to a pic you can find online of the galaxy tab 10.1, they don’t look the same, now go find a head on pic of the iPad 1… the bezel looks the same. It looks like it is more than a resize of the galaxy tab. It looks like they put a screen shot onto a iPad and altered it to seem more like the galaxy tab by removing the home button and moving the webcam.

This isn’t about patents. This is about “Community Design” which is a sort of trade dress. It’s like here in the US and most other parts of the world, you can’t make your products look too similar to somebody else’s, unless there has been prior art in the form of something that was available to the public (e.g. it can’t be a prop, prototype, or part of a work of fiction).

I actually downloaded the source PDF that the source article is referencing. It contains many photos of the iPad and Tab illustrating their relative shapes and sizes, including exact dimensions in mm. The photos on page 28 seems to be the only photos scaled side by side with the devices turned on to illustrate the similarities of the UI (hence, why the App Drawer is shown). There’s nothing on that page calling out similarities in size or aspect ratio, but does note similarities in appearance. It might have been a little bit of an error to not show the two at the appropriate aspect ratios on that particular page, but they seemed to have thoroughly addressed size/aspect ratio in other parts of the document, both in photos and in spec. btw-The source article seems to be a bit of a troll in tone, imho, but I am reading a translated version.

I hate to tell you, but the Treo 650 was great-even when used without a stylus… screen was smaller than the iPhone, but go look at some old videos. The iPhone is a Treo redesigned for a full screen and with a virtual keyboard.
