Apple have delivered on what must be one of the most-requested options for their MacBook Pro range, and made an antiglare display available for the 15-inch model.  Priced at $50, the option keeps the 1,440 x 900 resolution and LED backlighting, but does mean you lose the borderless panel.

In fact, as you can see from our MacBook Pro 17-inch review the matte-finish display brings with it a silver bezel, rather than the edge-to-edge glass of the standard glossy screen.  Still, if you’re plagued with reflections and shy away whenever you catch a glimpse of yourself gazing, zombie-eyed, at your notebook then all that might be worth it.

Unfortunately there’s still no such option for the 13-inch MacBook Pro, though it seems likely that Apple will continue to progressively roll the upgrade out across their range.  The matte display is available to specify on new 15-inch MacBook Pro notebooks now.
