Yeah, not enough to make me ditch my 1st gen Touch. You know what’s missing that would’ve made the Touch probably the best portable device ever? A 3G radio. I’d pay $20/month for unlimited data for this thing.

New UI? Probably coming with firmware 2.1, unless this is specialized for Nike+. Hardware volume buttons are a nice addition, but not necessarily needed.

One thing I would like to see improved is skipping through audio that’s incredibly long. It starts skipping by 10-20 minutes at a time so it’s difficult to get to where you really want.

Major disappointment. Instead of usable tool, it’s now a toy. I was looking for an iPhone type wifi upgrade, some minimal GPS,… Still overpriced for the storage available. I’ve crossed it off my Christmas list for receiving or giving.

I AM SO DISSAPOINTED THAT THEY DID NOT INCREASE GB CAPACITY, I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD FROM LEAVING MY FIRST GEN TO GET THE TOUCH ….I WONDER WHY THEY DIDNT CHOOSE TO GIVE MORE GB’S?

Its high time Steve also focuses on the interactive Web2.0 and develops the iPod to face that collaborative generation – with learning and communicating devices like he has done for the music/media/computing and telephony world.

first thanks for the live coverage of the “event”
(the “event” was a bit to short if you ask me, though)

Not alot changes on the iPod Touch, it won’t make me sell my first gen and buy the new one. only the speaker is a nice feature,specially for playing the games.

One thing that I am wondering after reading the presentation notes is to know if the new headset with volume control will work with older iPod Touches. That would be a workaround to not having the new hardware volume controls that were just introduced today. I am itching to be able to control the volume without needing to open the interface. Anyone know about this?
