I’ve been an iphone user since its first release...

...Am I a follower? No, because I don’t make excuses for the company and they don’t pay me to ‘praise their products’. It’s simply a preference. There are countless of other smartphones in the market. If you don’t like the iphone 4, don’t get it. Sure, I’d like to try other smartphones but we are stuck on a contract...

I see someone in denial. Are you a follower, aka fanboi, or are you not? Who cares, as long as you're making Jobs rich. Keep buying those iPhones and fulfilling that contract...

I've been an iphone user since its first release. The 2G's Edge network had the least dropped calls, the 3GS had countless dropped calls, and after owning the 4 for two weeks, I experienced 4 dropped calls. I purchased the bumper (should have been free) and it enhanced the reception issue. Dropped calls has been an ongoing problem mainly with AT&T's network, and now Apple's design on the 4 increased the percentage. However, call quality on the 4 is the best compared to its predecessors. Reception issue aside, the 4 would have been the perfect iphone. Yea, nothing is perfect which suck!

I do believe that holding the phone a certain way decreases 'bar strength' with my personal tests. The metal band design flaw is the logical explanation, and with Apple's upcoming reception updates (if any), hopefully it would alleviate the issue.

However, the arrogance of Apple and Steve Jobs, especially telling consumers 'not to hold the phone a ceratin way' is ludicrous...Furthermore, bumper cases should have been free of charge.

Off-topic; after reading others users posts, I noticed that there's a lot of 'hate' on Apple...yea, they don't care and they will continue to make billions of dollars with loyal followers. Am I a follower? No, because I don't make excuses for the company and they don't pay me to 'praise their products'. It's simply a preference. There are countless of other smartphones in the market. If you don't like the iphone 4, don't get it. Sure, I'd like to try other smartphones but we are stuck on a contract. Service providers and smartphone makers will not make it happen. There should be one provider that carries all the latest smartphones so I can try each and every one of them.

The question remains, WHAT in anything that is even familiar with logic and reason would induce anyone to buy something as closed-off and pretty and functionless as an apple product in the first place.

Reminds me of the expression, if you have nothing to say, dress it up in pretty colors. Pretty much explains crapple products.

This is really a funny article if true. So, what Apple is saying is "well, AT&T have a crappy network, we were just trying to make their godsawful crappy speeds and poor connections look better."

So, essentially, a crapple phone on a craptastic network. Excellent marriage for all the crapple users.

I have not owned 1 phone that has the problems the iPhone 4 displays. I own the iPhone 2G or 3G and not a problem in sight. To expect people to hold it a certain way or even except Apples attitude is ridicules!

I returned my iphone 4 on the day of purchase with a heavy heart due to yellow spots and piss poor signal, my ipad is now sold (the 2nd one I owned due to my first unit having faulty wifi connection) and I personally wont buy another Apple product again.

iPhone 4 is going to divide the world into two categories, Blind Apple Fans and Rest of the Logical World. I would have really liked to see Apple standup and take responsibility of the issue... recall the stuff... rectify it and then re-launch... maybe that way the iPhone 4 team could have got some redemption... All said and done... iPhone 4 is "Simply Not Worth It"

This is getting so ridiculous it's bizarre! Changing how the signal strength is indicated on the screen will not prevent dropping calls or disconnecting from the network. The only thing it will do is prevent the hundreds of online videos from exposing the design flaws of the phone in a straightforward manner. Which is something Apple wanted in the first place.
