Apple has announced it will be holding a press conference on Friday, July 16th 2010, and we’re guessing the company will be taking to the stage to talk about the iPhone 4‘s antenna.  SlashGear will be there on Friday morning, running our usual liveblog at http://live.slashgear.com/ and we’d love for you to join us as we find out exactly what Steve Jobs & Co have planned.

The iPhone 4′s external antenna, and whether it’s poorly designed in terms of user ergonomics, has threatened to overshadow the smartphone as a whole, despite Apple’s advances in display technology and their latest version of iOS.  The company has promised a software patch that will supposedly address incorrectly displaying signal strength bars, but whether that will fix or merely disguise the issue remains to be seen.
