Chalk this one up as an unconfirmed rumor for now, but if you’ve been swayed to the point of near-no-return by Apple’s hype machine and want to slap an iPad onto your credit card, you might be able to do that relatively soon.  According to AppAdvice’s “source close to the matter”, Apple are ramping up to take preorders of the iPad from February 25th, this coming Thursday.

The preorders would be US-only at present, and they’d only be for the WiFi model, not the more expensive 3G versions.  Deliveries would then be expected roughly thirty days later, putting it on or around March 26th.  Pricing, as we already know, kicks off at $499 for the 16GB iPad, rising up to $599 for the 32GB and $699 for the 64GB.
