Apple iLife '09 available today

iLife '09, the latest update to Apple's media editing suite, goes on sale today, January 27th.  Announced earlier this month at Apple's final Macworld keynote, the package includes a new version of iPhoto with the ability to recognise faces and organise your photo collections accordingly,  and GarageBand '09 with musical instrument training downloads.

iPhoto '09 is also able to use embedded GPS data from photos to build up holiday travel books, identify nearby monuments and attractions, and add that data to Facebook, Flickr and other photo sharing sites.  In order to run iLife '09 you'll need to have Mac OS X Leopard; Apple will happily sell you that, plus iLife '09 and iWork '09, for $169 in the shape of the Mac Box Set.

iLife will be available to purchase in two versions: the single user licence, which costs $79, and the family pack, which costs $99 but can be installed on up to five Macs.  It's currently available to order at the Mac store online, with free shipping, or alternatively you could take a trip to your nearest Apple store.
