Yes yes YES.

As a professional cartoonist, the lack of a pressure-sensitive stylus has been the reason Ive been “meh” about the iPad. If this became a reality, the iPad would be FAR more compelling to me and (finances willing) I would definitely buy both iPad & stylus on release.

Of cause I will buy it. There is no other stylus that works well with the iPad! My fingers are too thick to use to write so please let this be true. Can’t understand why Jobs did not develope one in the first place. Maybe his sales would have been higher if he had done so???

would I buy it? Sir, I would buy an iPad if there was a pressure sensitive pen. Way cheaper than a Wacom Cintique (1/2 the price).

As an artist who loves his iPad, PLEASE let this be true. The lack of pressure sensitivity is about the only thing wrong with the device for me. I’ve used the ostylus (excellent), and a host of others like the Target/Griffin and TenPen. Apps: Sketchbook Pro, Adobe Ideas, ZenBrush, Layers, Brushes and more. The big hurdle remains a pressure sensitive interface.

This is what’s wrong with the patent system. We need to go back to the days when you had to have a working model before you could patent it.

That is obviously Steve backing down again. The Ep121 has a stylus but doesn’t need it… so too the HP slate 500 … etc etc. Most these days that have styluses don’t need them duh!

Notetaking, pdf editing, drawing … yes sure I would rather have a device which could use a decent stylus instead of the current capacitive useless bunch.

1. Filing a patent application isn’t the same as a patent. You erroneously call the application “patent” throughout the article.
2. There is no need to try to interpret Steve Jobs’ words to us. He has been known to change opinions at 180 degrees whenever it suits his business. Your attempt to interpret the dismissive statement about styli just gives away an unjustified bias.
3. Why would Google start developing hardware?

the author might as well post a photo of him worshipping jobs….when ripping competitors/ his statements means one thing and while talking about apple patent it means another…
