Imagine if we all stopped buying Apple products because of this, now those poor workers wouldnt have a job at all and would then probably go commit suicide anyways so lets keep buying Apple products so that they may stay employed

While I think It’s unfair to single them out… I think we should be doing all we can to encourage corporations to act responsibly. So, I voted where apple goes, the industry follows.

I am with ya, but they don’t trust their fellow Americans, and cannot force the government into requiring that people give up many basic rights like they can in these other countries.

These workers can’t just walk out. They are in countries where there really is no other option. They work on huge campuses that house and clothe them, and create a reliance. Their lives become their work. If they don’t work, they definitely don’t eat. Not just them, but their entire families.

And, they definitely don’t have worker rights, and many human rights. Apple, and other manufacturers, know that human rights cost money and hinder the profit margin from continued growth. Same with environmental restrictions.

And that, friend, is why we don’t do manufacturing here in the States. People want rights, and don’t want to screw up the local environment. Not in my back yard, as they say.

100% with you!! They want to get the cheapest production prices, and keep the high
retail price of all the products; they don’t even pass the savings of making
their products abroad to the final customer.

100 billion and counting and they can’t build at least one factory at home? Hire some Americans for gods sake. I’m all for a company making big profits if/when they can but Apple has taken greed to a whole new level. Bring some jobs that are desperately needed back home and your critics go away. Even a company like Samsung builds new factories in the US and their Korean but Apple, a American company won’t? very sad indeed!

I think its simple. Do what every other company does. Walk out if they are being treated unfair. No workers means no production. No production means attention…………….

Telling Apple we are watching and at the same time complaining because the prices are high or we can’t get them fast enough isn’t really twisting any arms.

150,000 signatures, vs 15,000,000 iPhones sold alone…

OK, that’s what I thought. roughly 1%, and likely an even smaller percent who will even remember this issue when it comes time to buy their new iDevice.
