bmw and audis are truly quality products, i dont see audi deleting msg from their forums because angry users get a cracked window, bmw(or any european luxury car company) use top technology to build their cars unlike honda and they are focused to diferent markets, its the PATHETIC example that apple fans post everytime they wine about their prices, there must be a lot of them with liver problems .stop whining apple kids.

That’s funny, stainless steel is a very elegant and ultra durable metal, that’s why you see stainless steel on fine watches and not plastic. You would have to throw the iPhone against a brick wall to bend the stainless steel band NOT just merely dropping it on the floor.

That is funny. My best friend purchased two iphone 4′s at release (ordered them). I was at his house the day they arrived. He set the phones up, we drove to his wives work, gave her her phone and went to pick up his son. We got back she was leaving work, dropped the phone and it cracked the front and bent the antenna.

Bad design man, bad design…but you keep drinking the kool aid and keep on believing anything apple is perfect.

I have Steve Jobs palo alto home address, you can easily google it. Using google maps you can take a look at his properties and clearly see his home was neither modest nor in a modest neighborhood.

I have dropped my iPhone 4, which shares the same design as the new iPhone 4S, several times, and at least three in the last week. Onto hardwood flooring. It has not scratches, no cracks, not a single visible mark, other than fingerprints from frequent use which I remove regularly with a damp lint-free cloth. As a consumer, a software developer, and a tech enthusiast, who has used a variety of phones, I would never go back to using a mobile phone with a plastic back. In my experience they all eventually exhibit audible stress (read: squeaking, and twisting).

Get a clue. There’s no difference in quality between a BMW and an Audi (I happen to live in Germany and own both).
Also, a Galaxy S II is much more likely to survive a drop than an iPhone. If you drop te iPhone, the glass on the back breaks almost certinly. The Galaxy S II will eventually get a few scratches, but it will never break.
There’s a difference between looking sturdy nd actually bing high quality. Depending on where it’s used, plastic cantake much more strain than metal or glass – it all depends on the use case.

Oh, by the way, Samsung Galaxy S II – I really could crush that with one hand, build quality is very poor, if you’re thinking of buying why not give it a try first. I’m not knocking that one alone, most others were the same, however it is touted as an iPhone competitor. Just go see for yourself and factor in all of these issues. In Europe many people buy BMW because of the name. But if they look at the quality, they ultimately go for Audi – just as with phones, there really is a world of difference.

I waked into a major phone store today and played with lots of iPhone competitors. I wouldn’t want to drop any of them, by pressing or twisting gently they exhibited sounds of stress. Nothing out there seems faster, cheaper, better supported or takes better photos. The iPhone 4S is pretty much all new inside, but has that robust glass and steel shell. Apple have never said there would be an iPhone 5 so how can anyone accuse them of dropping any balls? They rate as top in satisfaction and reliability, are very well made and apart from any nerdy numerical comparisons most probably outperform other phones in actual day to day use. If they fail to in one area or another that doesn’t count as a dropped ball either. The dropped ball is the media hype, those who told us they knew there was an iPhone 5. Perhaps on this occasion, disappointed people should shoot the messenger – as in the media and bloggers. What will all those http://www.iphone5xxxxx sites do now?
