If the courts start charging a billion dollars for every “frivolous” lawsuits, i’m sure apple and their army of lawyers will think twice. Jobs wanted to spend every penny Apple has to defeat android and that appears to be the only goal they have at this point. They are way behind in terms innovation and technology when compared to top android makers like samsung, motorola,HTC and ASUS. It seems nearly everyday android makers are coming up with new, efficient and more powerful devices while apple is content on spending billions on advertising and lawyers.

They’ve released nothing new in months and when they did release their silly little new updated phone, the only thing they could come up with was a voice program that came with the phone that is nothing more than a gimmick.

I think it’s a mistake to assume that Samsung is a copycat. Apple has one phone and one tablet and one size for the both of them. Samsung has gazillion sizes, colors, operating system and so on. How is it a copycat to apple? Their products are totally different. They all make phones and tablets with similar built like rectangular in shape, flat glass, and touchscreen be it tablets or phones. steve jobs and apple themselves have copied the same design and ideas from palm and motorola. I wish they would sue the crap out of that evil fruit tree company. Whether or not you like android or ios, it doesn’t matter, if apple wins, WE as consumers will lose.

I think All Android Handset manufacturing companies should reach out to each other and take down APPLE once and for all. Apple is not a electronic company, it is dictator with a narrow mind with sole objective to be the only company in the market. It buys hardware from the market at low prices from various companies, polish it and sells us those at ridiculously overpriced piece of devices. It made a simple device like mp3 player pricey like a phone and a simple phone pricey like a laptop. Apple is not playing fair and maybe he will be able to grab a lawsuit or two but the only thing it will get are curses from the developer and mobile community

Both Samsung and Apple have great ideas. In my mind, the best product with an inexpensive price tag wins. So far I usually go with the cheaper product when I see more bang for my buck or more whistles and bells. It’s not that I don’t believe in Apple because I would hate to see this rare cat run over and splattered while crossing the highway of competition. Their prices are another story. In a fierce competitive environment, what can you do about copycats anyway? The strongest cats usually survive.

Hopefully all this crap will lead to reform in the patent process and encourage countries like Germany and Austrailia to change their policy of giving out temporary injuntions like it’s candy on halloween. This amounts to nothing more than yet another marketing campain by Apple. They need not win a single case when all is said and done, the bad mouthing of the competition in the press and the manipulation of the buying public is worth every penny spent on these phoney lawsuits. So long as these two systems remain the way they are then Apple will continue to exploit the system in an effort to control the publics perception of their main rival.

Being a monopoly and licensing patents are in no way related, nor is the threat of them bringing suit blackmail.
