They might have done it to show the UI. They re-sized the photos to enhance the similarities between the phones and thus making judges think these two are similar. But it will affect the thinking mind of a human.
If they were only to show the UI, why do they resize?

I love the way they show the application drawer on the Galaxy S instead of the home screens on both devices too.
