As far as I know, the apt-X algorithm is already in the latest Macs. The Apple store says this about a Creative Bluetooth speaker dock:
“Did You Notice?
The same apt-X Bluetooth wireless technology found in Apple Mac mini and iMac is used in the ZiiSound D5.”

Just thought I would let you know that apple already supports apt-X in its MacBook range of computers.

The A2DP function on iOS is inferior, the reason audio sounds bad on iOS is because it only encodes with a bitpool value of 32 to 34. If that value was 50 or greater, it would be CD quality and aptX would not sound any better than A2DP.
