Apple have quietly updated their entry-level white plastic MacBook, giving it a slight processor boost, more storage and faster memory. The 13-inch model remains at $999, but gets an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz versus the previous iteration’s 2.0GHz chip.
As for the storage, that climbs from at 120GB hard-drive to a 160GB unit, and the RAM – although still 2GB as standard – gets a speed boost to 800MHz. Otherwise all is the same, with the plastic-bodied notebook remaining the cheapest way to get onto the Apple ladder.
The Apple Canada store has been updated with the new model, but international stores such as Apple UK continue to show the older machine. The updated MacBook ships within 24hrs.
