Seems fair. We have 4G in Australia. These were advertised as 4G, with disclaimers in very, very small writing that it would not work in Australia. They only started putting stickers on the boxes after the complaints started coming in. Should people have researched more? Sure, it never hurts to research. But it doesn’t change the fact that Apple broke Australian law. Regardless if you think it is a good law or not, they broke it.

excessive,but if Australia is consistent with other products and keep carriers in check with their claims of 3g speeds, then the fine is warranted. in the USA, Apple would be permitted to call iPad ta “10g” tablet and get away with it.

Australia’s population is 20 million people. That’s a very hard hit for Apple. There is marketing spin, and then there is absolute BS. Good to see our regulators keeping the markets honest.
