Swedish engineers, among the best there are. Only drawback is that their own country is doing such a poor job of sustaining and aiding this awesome new companies with new technology and let them being acquired by foreign interests, in the end meaning swedes miss potential new fun job openings when the venture moves abroad.

A big drawback of this technology is that it won´t show sidewalk images. I use this feature in Google Maps all the time to look for certain businesses or shops along a street. This is what is really useful IMHO. This 3D technology is awesome and preety, but it can´t do that.

You realize that Google has been analising traffic data from all GPS enabled phones to display current traffic data for years right?

And you realise it's all in realtime? I can sit in my office and watch how heavy the traffic flow on the highway is behind me all day.

Or am I the only one that uses the traffic data overlays?

P.S. This was originally targeted at the second half of the post not just the big pretty pictures. This is the second company that Apple has bought out that does the same thing. Still nothing has come of it. I guess only time will tell.

Google buys hundreds of cars and has them drive hours all over the place, they then try to combine that with rough ground-level elevation and terrain data, and then they slowly manually model all the buildings, architecture, highways, overpasses, streets, and even signs in an entire city.

With C3, you can simply fly over an area and get all of that data in an hour or two, with resolution and accuracy under 4 inches.
