USB 3 is adding about $5 per unit to external storage. I can grab a 2TB USB 3 external at costco or newegg for $80.  I promise you that to get anywhere near the speed of usb 3 on external storage you are going to pay 2 to 4 times that on a lacie or any other maker for the same speed on  a thunderbolt port.

I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $71,32 to buy.
