AnyDATA to unveil new ASP-318 and ASP-518 smartphones at MWC 2010

With Mobile World Congress in Spain, kicking off this month there will soon be lots of new mobile phones being unveiled. A company called AnyDATA is unveiling its new smartphones that will be shown at MWC ahead of the show. The new devices are the ASP-310 and the ASP-518. Both smartphones are multimedia devices.

The cheaper of the two is the ASP-318 and it uses the Mediatek MT6516 application processor to provide multimedia capabilities to users on 2G networks. The handset runs Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro and has a 3.2-inch screen. Other features include GPS, accelerometer, dual SIM slots, a microSD card slot, and a FM tuner. The camera in the handset is a 3.2MP unit with flash, autofocus, and macro mode. Supported networks include global GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz bands. The device will ship in Q2 as the iMedia smartphone.

The ASP-518 is a 3G dual mode handset marketed by China Telecom under the Phillips brand. The device runs Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro and features GPS, WiFi, 4GB of memory, and a microSD card slot. The handset has dual SIM slots, a 5MP camera with autofocus, a front facing camera for video conferencing, and a MSM7627 3G processor from Qualcomm. It works on CDMA EVDO Rev A networks and GSM 900/1800 networks.
