Well, a lot of us have family around the world and thankfully there are social sites I can communicate and see pictures of my family no matter where they are in the world at any time of day or night. Personally I believe if someone dose not want there information posted on the internet you should not post that information yourself And pretty much assume ANYTHING can be hacked. As far as selling our information to companies I really don’t mind because I would any day rather receive advertisements for things that are relative to my life then something that I have no interest or use for.

Rubbish. I am a teenager and I can honestly say I use facebook mainly to keep up with those I cannot catch up with often in real life – for example, friends living too far away, friends & family overseas, etc. Facebook is much more cheaper and convenient than calls, texts & emails as I can upload photos or statuses to let all of these people see what is going on, without having to upload and send 40+ messages to different people…

I know an easy 10-15 people who are able to hack into people’s facebook accounts and retrieve all their personal data, (phone numbers that have automatically been saved on there etc) as well as being able to see everything they are doing from the inside. And guess what? These people’s are all under the age of 21. Don’t judge people’s hacking ability or knowledge of the world based purely on age. Don’t think that our lives are ruled by Facebook, in fact the main reason why myself or any of my good friends go on there is to organize meeting up (in person!) with a large group of people.

There is nothing wrong with social networking. However, Facebook has become the “evil empire” of the web. Think about it, Zucherberg is worth around 17 billion dollars now. Exactly how did he amass that kind of wealth from a site that “is free, and always will be”? From selling the information of all it’s users to corporations, who then use that info to “custom fit” their advertisements to YOU, the consumers. It’s about time Anonymous put a stop to this kind of piracy. I FULLY SUPPORT ANONYMOUS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO DESTROY FACEBOOK, AND ALL OTHER CORPORATE LACKEY SITES ON THE INTERNET.

Personally I would like the option to remove my account and information from facebook, which does not exist now. I wish Anonymous would just give people that option rather than wipe all of facebook altogether…. Other people who want to stay with facebook should have that option too… By not giving people a choice, Anonymous is being as totalitarian as facebook has been by not letting people delete their information.

Most fb account arent on a secure connection (https) anyway. Anyone with basic computer science knowledge could intercept your connection and see what you post without the consent of facebook.

I hope Facebook does get taken down.. and while they’re at it to take down Twitter and Myspace too. I’m so sick of telling students to put away their phones because their tweeting, on Myspace and the Facebook. It’s really annoying. People are more connected with this online garbage than actual face-to-face connection. It’s pathetic. No wonder sex dolls and robots are being created, human beings are losing their abilities to socialize and connect with people physically. There is a direct correlation with the increase of social anxiety and the increase usage of these social networking sites. I really hope these revolutionists do bring down these big name networking sites and for good. We humans were able to live before without them and we can still live without them. I just have a livejournal to sell things I don’t need anymore. If that went down I wouldn’t care, there are boardrooms and actual chat rooms with cameras. These social networks are just refocusing the sheeples from the real important things in life.
