First red flag right there. Patently untrue, and I wouldn’t trust any software released by any group that used that line, much less a group that’s supposed to be on the cutting edge of digital security.

Mike, if you’re going to use your ’13 years of experience’ to actually break open the live CD and have a bit of a poke around to see if it is actually trouble – then sure – go for it.

I’ll assume in that case you know how to take the necessary precautions to sandbox your instance correctly.

My comment was more to the people that most likely have little Linux experience and are setting themselves up for trouble.

Even the Author does not have an understanding of malware. I will not oblige either; simple research virus, trojan etc. They are different in description. I cannot believe you would write an article like this and not even know what you are writing about. Why don’t you look at the source code and figure out if it got any trojans? And what does this have to do with Windows?

Android is Linux too, doesn’t mean a thing by itself. The whole of how the distribution is assembled and verified is what matters. Case in point, there’s a distribution called “Damn Vulnerable Linux” designed specifically for n00b penetration testers to sharpen their skills by exploiting known vulnerabilities.

I personally wouldn’t run anything that screams out “I’m a h@x0r”. Definitely advertises one as a silly, clueless amateur.
