Slashgear I expect better from you. An official touchwiz ics Rom has been leaked and is stable for the9r version of the n7000 (i9220 i think is the model number).

The only reason why that was considered for the Galaxy S was because it count run touchwiz over ics. Please stop reposting this garbage story and fueling the rumor fire

For starters the writer of this article Chris Burns should be ashamed and fired for trying to stir up absolute BS with this reference to “no ICS” for the note, GALACTIC UPGRADE with Premuim Suite, so let’s just forget the first part and focus on the “suite” part??? And then read into it like a complete moron. Unbelievable how this crap gets spread. If anything it refers to ICS update with a premium touchwiz suite complete with new apps for the S pen. So Mr. Burns here is insinuating that Samsung has not only abandoned their flagship phone for an update but decided to announce it in “code” at the end of a game teaser…..sweet god how do these tech bloggers, writers keep their jobs…..brutal…

Also, I haven’t seen anything that suggested that angry birds space was an update. I thought it was a completely new game? How do you tie in angry birds space with angry birds? Nonetheless, when RIO came out (the second retheme of angry birds, after seasons, which was even less of a change) they created a completely new game.

This is what I said. The horrible korean translators aside (Sammy has a habit of miss peaking on their ads…remember the galaxy tab site?), I don’t see anything at all that suggests an abandonment of an ICS update. Especially as the Note is Samsung flagship device until the GSIII comes out. It hardly makes sense that they’d update the galaxy s2 line and not update the “galaxy note”–key word galaxy.

If, we assume that this does bear some resemblance to a tease about an is update, then how do we get around the fact that Sammy was calling the value pack a value pack, when this is called a premium suite? The note has been out for a while, and Sammy has been promising more s pen apps and games for a while. This would make a boatload more sense than what your suggesting.

Bottom line..I think this refers to a OS update, or at least a update including a “suite” of apps that take advantage of the s pen and/or the display.

Its not that simple. The carriers (as well as Google) need to approve of the update. And the bloaware is added at the behest of the carriers. Anyways, bloatware has become less of an issue, at least here on at&t. Some of the apps even add value.

Galactic upgrade = Galaxy (S2 and Note) upgrade. If they said “for their premium suite” of devices, I’d think that to mean the S2 and the Note.

Either way, I give a birdshit about the Rovio game. Give me the damn ICS upgrade asap. You can push out your TW overlay later if you wish. But enough with unnecessary delays.

This should be like Windows. Everyone installs one copy of Windows. They do not get to customize it. They can ship it with some crapware games and s/w on a new ,machine/laptop. But you get the SAME windows regardless of who the mfgr is. Google must insist that all OS updates be pushed within 2 months of release. Any mfgr. customizations should be done after that and the customer should be able to turn them off. Just like choosing your search engine or browser. The day this happens will be one small step for mfgrs, one huge step for Android-kind.

You are reading it wrong. You are only interpreting the words “premium suite” and ignoring that it says “Galactic Upgrade with” before that.

Most natural interpretation is that they are teasing the “Galactic Upgrade” — an upgrade to ICS — and noting that it will come with a “premium suite” as well. That is what “with” means. So the premium suite is probably just a bunch of fancy apps.

If the interpretation is what you are suggesting, and the “premium suite” is in lieu of an update to ICS, then what is the “Galactic Upgrade” that comes along with that premium suite? Your interpretation doesn’t make sense.

Stop making stuff up.
