Andy Rubin tweets "definition of open" as Jobs retort

We're still waiting for an official response from Google to Steve Jobs' comments about Android and openness during Apple's financial results call this week, but the tirade appears to have driven Android creator Andy Rubin to Twitter.  His first tweet, meanwhile, is a challenge on openness, flagging up how easily would-be Android developers can access the core OS.

the definition of open: "mkdir android ; cd android ; repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git ; repo sync ; make" – Andy Rubin

Git is Google's source code repository for the Android platform, a distributed revision control system which is readily accessible to all users.  We're sure that Google will respond officially in some way to Jobs' comments; after all, easily accessed source code doesn't quite answer the criticisms around fragmentation.

It's worth mentioning that the Twitter account is yet to be recognized as verified by Twitter, and so this could be a fake Rubin rather than the real thing.  Still, Rie Rubin does mention the account, which would seem to imply it's legit.
