Android TV adds more content via new apps

Android TV fans that are itching to watch all the new fall TV will be able to do so thanks to some new content and apps available for their device. Android TV devices now have access to Showtime, HBO Go, and CBS All Access. With those apps available fans can watch shows like Homeland, Vice, and The Big Bang Theory along with huge amounts of other content.

Families wanting to watch a movie together can also enjoy the Disney Movies Anywhere app now available on Android TV. The Epix app is also now available offering thousands of movies, concerts, and comedy specials to check out.

Other than new apps, new partners are joining the Android TV ecosystem with hardware for people to buy. Among the new hardware partners is Hisense, TCL, and more smart TV makers. Pay TV operators can also join the Android TV ecosystem to give people access to streaming apps.

That means that local cable companies can choose to offer set top boxes with Android TV built-in. Many cable and satellite firms are hesitant to do that out of fear that people might decide streaming is all they need. As always, you need a subscription or TV provider that participates to view content on some of these apps.
