The combined market share of windows mobile and windows phone together is still very low. But it still is the largest growing mobile operating system ever. The growth is around 140% compared to nearest rival Android which stands at 91.5% . Windows Phone started 3 years Android started hitting the market.

My microwave has a Linux kernel.

Android handsets might be Linux based in that sense. But I wouldn’t call it a Linux OS like Meego, Debian, etc, which is a good thing, imho. Android’s security model would give real GNU/Linux a bad name if they were lumped together.

Really? Its right under the About Phone, its a Linux Kernel, says its 3.0.31 on my phone. Unix is a standard not an OS. Aix, Solaris, HP-UX and Linux are OSes based on the Unix standard.

Biggest reason i see people buying iphone anymore is cause they got 100+$ in app’s on iOS they don’t want to rebuy.

I don’t know why there is any talk about the iPhone. It is almost totally irrelevant and is only kept being brought up because the 14 percent jump up and down cause their butts hurt.
