I can understand the MeeGo part, hack from what I have seen from Nokia N9 and nokia N950 reports it is even better than Android. But Windows Phone, come one, this one is worse than Symbian. No wonder no one wants to buy smartphones with WP7. But all in all those software patents stuff is just idiotic. Software patents must die just as old war dies. It's much more harm than good.

They released like 8 handsets which all displayed very high level hardware, and at least in Australia now are all sitting on budget plans, nobody still wants them. They can’t really make them cheaper since I think they are probably already at break even price points, and they don’t need to make them faster because they are already smooth and plan games fine, so where can they go with them to make them more desirable?

Google must take and aggressive stand against some of these lawsuits and combine forces w/ the OEMs to stave off Apples attempt to compete in the courtrooms instead of the market place. Bcz if some of these OEMs start looking else where for fear of endless court battles from Apple , Oracle, Microsoft etc that will greatly affect their bottom line and those billions in profit they enjoy now will start to dwindle.

Having tested all 3 platforms pretty comprehensively I can say Android is definitely superior to both IOS and WP7. In fairness WP7 is not in the same league as the other 2. I would predict something along the lines of a 50:30:20 split IOS:Android:WP7/Mango in the future. None of them will realistically kill off each other.

Google gave away a product and claimed it was free. The reason android became popular was because Manufacturers did not have to invest in Research & Development which made selling droid phones a higher profit phone than others. There WAS ALWAYS A COST. Apple, Oracle and Microsoft have been saying this for close to 2 years now. Manufacturers have ignored it. Now they must pay. Microsoft will license their technology and the same goes for Oracle.
This will bascially eat the profits made on making these phones up. I believe Apple has no incentive to license their technology. I predict Droid will fail because of Apple. Windows Phones and IPhones are better than droids in my opinion. Google will have to start being innovative and stop copying technology. I think the next issue google is going to run into is Intellectual Property with FaceBook. Do something new and you won't have these problems. I give droid 2 years and it will start to fade due to costs to sale the phone.
