Android espresso machine is just plain weird

I thought that designers were trying to integrate iPod docks into everything and they pretty much are with toilet iPod docks and iPod docks for the washing machine. Apparently Android docking appliances are on the way too, at least in concept form.

A new Android-based espresso machine has turned up on Yanko Design that was designed by the Metatrend Institute. The theory is that in the morning when you stagger into the kitchen to make your espresso you would dock your Android phone. An app would read the QR code, which is sort of like a barcode, on the top of whatever cartridge of espresso roast you put into the machine.

Once the cartridge was read the machine would play music to go along with the drink depending on the flavor you are drinking. This is weird to me, but hard-core coffee fans may find it interesting.
