Why do I hate this type of patching. Venders like Samsung, Motorola, and who knows who else have released handsets with android versions 1.5 and 1.6 in the past year. These handsets may get upgraded to 2.1 if they are lucky or they wont. Many handsets are on 2.2 and they may or may not get gingerbread. This kind of fixing does few any good. Actually it makes owning an iPhone more attractive because apple is at least updating their old phones.

Google should be making sure any handset released gets the updates for 2 years after it's release. They need to force the vender's to do so, otherwise android wont make it in the corporate world when someones phone could have an exploit that wont get fixed. Suddenly IT people wont want to support android because exploit fixes wont get out to the phones that need them.
