Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4, S III, Note II confirmed by French carrier SFR

Many Android fans are busy dreaming of the day when they can get Android 4.4 KitKat on their smartphone. Before that day comes, most users will get an upgrade to Android 4.3. That means that while Android 4.4 may be the operating system of your Android dreams, the closer reality is when will you get the update to Android 4.3.

Android fans in France who use provider SFR now have a date range to look forward to for several devices. The French carrier has confirmed the approximate launch dates for the Android 4.3 update for a number of popular Samsung devices. The carrier has confirmed the upgrade schedule for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II.

According to the carrier, the Galaxy S4 will get Android 4.3 some point in October. The Galaxy SIII 3G and 4G versions will get the update in November or December along with the Galaxy Note II. If you're using a Android device made by HTC, the carrier has also tipped the update for the HTC One.

The HTC device will get the Android 4.3 update at some point in October, but only OTA. The Samsung devices will be able to get great over the air and via KIES. While Android 4.3 isn't a massive update, it does bring some new security features including restricted profiles and SELinux.
