Worth Reading?

NoYes

I’ve never used Amp’d Mobile, but I was a bit surprised to hear that they aren’t doing very well. The company is doing so badly that they have decided to file for Chapter 11.

From the sounds of things they spent too much money on marketing and perhaps focused too much on multimedia and forgot to concentrate on the rest.

This doesn’t mean that they are giving up completely, they still have a chance to turn things around and come out ahead. For some reason I’m not going to hold my breath on that one though. I honestly haven’t met anyone that uses the service, are any of you out there going to be affected?

I am a new Amp’d subscriber/user – and their promised rebate has yet to come through… the service is great, however. I assume they are “slow pay” with everyone, judging from the news of the filing.

“Back-end infrastructure was not able to meet demand”?!? Isn’t that the point of an MVNO…that you leverage SOMEONE ELSE’S INFRASTRUCTURE?!!! Hopefully we’re at bust 2.0 now…we need another Silicon Valley colonic.

Take a look at smaller companies who are carrier agnostic…
