Remember that story a little while back about the big recall from AMD? Apparently not only AMD was confused by it, but so were Asustek Computers, MSI and Gigabyte Technology as they were all cited as receiving faulty video cards.

According to AMD there was no recall whatsoever. Both Asustek and Gigabyte Technology have confirmed that they have not received any faulty cards, and were not contacted by any journalists regarding the story before it broke.

The best guess anyone has is that Acer received a small amount of chips that did not have the Universal Video Decoder, but that issue was quickly corrected, and did not affect any other suppliers. Well there you have it, all of your ATI cards should be working just fine.
