Ambi Climate helps control heating and cooling costs

One of the most expensive utilities for many people all around the world is electricity. With many homes using electricity for cooling and heating, electric bills can cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars per month. One of the places where people can save money is by cutting back on the costs of heating and cooling, this is where a device called Ambi Climate comes in. Ambi Climate is a small internet of things device that you place in the home and it learns your habits and home environment to automatically adjust the AC unit.

The idea is that by automatically adjusting the AC unit, the ideal temperature can be maintained for comfort and to save money. The AC system in the home does need to be controllable via infrared for the Ambi Climate to work.

The device is also capable of synchronizing with a smartphone to give users access to monitor and control the AC unit in the home or office from anywhere. Ambi Climate takes into consideration more than temperature alone and monitors sunlight, temperature, humidity, and other elements to choose the perfect temperature for comfort and money savings.

The people behind Ambi Climate claim that the device can cut your energy bill by a third. When connected to a smartphone, Ambi Climate uses geolocation to turn the AC on when you are on your way home. The unit also offers AC maintenance notifications. Ambi Climate is on Kickstarter right now seeking $25,000 and has raised over $77,000 so far. A pledge of $99 or more will get you a unit delivered around June 2015.
